Conversations with a Paranormal Investigator - Julie Wraight - Mystic Jewelz AU

3rd July 2019. Reading Time: 6 minutes Conversations with a paranormal investigator, General. 1327 page views. 0 comments.

Julie is known as Mystic Jewelz AU and runs tours at the Caboolture Historical Village in QLD. She is an empath, psychic and physical medium as well as an eclectic witch..

I have seen a lot of Julie's adventures on social media for a while now. There were a few things that resonated with me following her pages. One of them being that she felt that she didn't necessarily fit into a certain box or category within the paranormal and was doing things her way, the way she wanted to do them. I love this! She has raving reviews of her paranormal tours and she even ditches the equipment which is quite a unique experience in today's modern investigating so it is refreshing to see a different approach. This is Julie and her paranormal story.

Please provide a short bio of who you are and what you do in the paranormal field:

My name is Jewelz, and I am "MysticJewelzAu". I host paranormal tours at the Caboolture Historical Village, and give that logical, basic understanding of spiritual and paranormal connections and communication.

How did you get started in the paranormal field?

I've always been a spiritual person, right from when I was younger. I have often spent time connecting with the spirit world, and helping others in their various situations as well. So it's hard to say when I actually started, because it's always been a part of me.

What is it that draws you to the paranormal?

The opportunity to learn more and more about paranormal possibilities, communicating with spirits and different energies, and being able to help convey logic, honest help and guidance to those who are genuinely interested.

Do any members of your family research/investigate the paranormal as well? (Does it run in the family?)

No, I'm the only one in my family, but they all support me fully

What is your area of expertise in the paranormal?

Personally I am an Empath, Psychic and Physical Medium, so I feel I bring the heart into the paranormal. I am also very logical and honest, and seek out explanations and reasoning. Im the first to admit that using paranormal investigation equipment is not something I am knowledgeable about, but I can and do help people understand and experience the spiritual interactions which can happen around them.

What do you believe a ‘ghost’ is? Do you believe in ghosts/spirits?

I rarely use the term "ghost", but I absolutely believe in the spirit world, and interact with spirits almost daily.

What approach do you take in researching/investigating the paranormal? Spiritual, technical, theoretical etc

I am a very spiritual person, with gifts and abilities as I mentioned above, so my approach is very logical. I trust my intuition and the energy of those around me, locations and objects. But I am also very open to receiving new knowledge and experiences, which is always the case in when interacting and exploring spiritual/paranormal situations.

When did you know that you could communicate with the other side? What did you do about it?

It was when I was a child. I just started talking to spirits and I can't explain it, but I just knew they were not "real people". I used to share things I experienced with my peers, but they soon used that as an opportunity to tease me, so for a long time I kept a lot to myself, until I was a young adult, and then begun opening myself up more and more to the communication and experiences I was having.

What is involved in developing your mediumship skills?

I think the best way I can answer this is to just say that as I embraced who I am, my skills and abilities grew organically and naturally. Each new experience was another door that opened for me, and I have loved the process, which continues to grow all the time.

How do you validate the information you receive?

Communication can help a lot to validate information on investigations or when helping people one on one. When this isn't possible, I research, or speak to other people in the industry or what ever the situation is.

You offer spiritual consultations? What is involved in this process?

Often people will come to me for various things, such as tarot readings, helping them understand unexplained happenings in their home or location, even how to communicate with spirits. I feel the key in every situation there is to really listen to the person, and give them honest and authentic advice, guidance and hopefully resolutions to things they might need help with.

You describe yourself as an eclectic witch? How did you get into this area and what does it mean to be a ‘witch’ in modern society?

It wasn't until a few years ago I heard that term, and it was a light bulb moment, because even as a child, I didn't fit in to one box, and as an adult, and being the spiritual being I am, it just made a lot of sense. As well as the empath, psychic and physical medium side of myself, I've also been very drawn to the Eclectic side of Wicca, because its a solitary practice, it's unique to that particular person, and I think in today's society, people are so ruled by ego, trends and power, they forget to just be content to be themselves.

Does being a witch aide you in your paranormal investigating?

In some aspects it can help. I carry protection symbols, oils, herbs, etc, and it can help me to help others as well, especially if they are going through situations that they may not understand, so I can bring some of my knowledge to help them.

How did you start your paranormal group/tours?

I had been on a few Paranormal tours at the location before, and asked if they still had the tours going, but sadly that particular group had stopped offering the tours, so I asked the Historical Village if I could bring a few people one night, and they asked me why, so I told them my experiences and I what I picked up during the tours I had been on, and they were very interested to talk to me more about doing public tours, and it went from there.

What sets your tours apart from all the others out in the field?

I think what makes my tours different is I don't use paranormal investigation equipment, rather I offer people the opportunity to have a personal, spiritual and paranormal experience. Some times, people don't know how to tell if they are experiencing spiritual interaction, so I use the beautiful location, which is very active, to help people discover this, in a safe, educational way.

If you retired from the field tomorrow, what legacy would you want to be remembered for? (Achievement, Tours, theory, experiments, attitude etc)

Just being able to help people on their journeys

What advice would you give to someone who feels that they may have some sort of psychic gift?

See if you can communicate with someone who can help guide you if possible, but if not, learn to trust yourself, gather some protective skills and set boundaries, and just enjoy the process.

If you could educate your peers or pass on knowledge, what would it be?

I would absolutely say be comfortable to be yourself and not be pressured to do what other people are doing. Don't get involved in Paradrama, and just follow your path, because you will go where you need to, by being genuine and authentic.
